Clogged Tub Drain in Granada Hills, CA

Went out on a slow tub drain call in Granada Hills, Ca yesterday. The tub was taking around 30 minutes to drain after a shower the customer told me. So I got out my trusty tub/shower snake and started running the line. Their was so much hair in the drain that when it wound up on my cable it actually snapped my cable! I took the snake out to the truck to replace the cable, and went back in to give it one more try. On the second run I pulled out a little more hair and then the tub drained great!! I gave the customer a 30 day warranty, another drain cleaning job by your friendly granada hills plumber.

Leak Under Sink in Van Nuys, CA

Went out on a leak under sink call in Van Nuys, Ca yesterday. The tenants had been putting off the leaking pipe repair for a while because they were worried the Landlord would blame them for the plumbing problems. Note to all renters: Please call your landlord when you have a leak, water leaks cause a lot more damage if you don’t repair them right away. In this case, the garbage disposal was so degraded from the leak, that it crumbled to pieces when trying to disconnect the pipes. The leak had been around long enough to rust out all the piping and garbage disposal under the sink, damaged the cabinet and caused mold damage inside the wall. Needless to say, a small leak, turned in to a big job. Like good ol’ Ben Franklin once said, “A stitch in time saves nine.” Another job done by your friendly Van Nuys Plumber

Water Pipe Leak in Woodland Hills, CA

Went out to check on a leaking water main in Woodland Hills, CA. It turned out to be a leak in an old galvanized water main under the sidewalk in front of my customers house. We replaced that old rusty leaking galvanized pipe with some shiny brand new copper pipe that should last for 75 years! Put down a nice cement patch in the sidewalk, and the only way you could tell we were there was by the absence of water leaking on my customers property!

Toilet Repair in Chatsworth, CA

Repaired two toilets in a business in Chatsworth today. The call started with a report of two toilet stoppages. As it turned out, both toilets were stopped up because the inside parts of the toilet were not working properly, which meant the toilets could not flush properly. Another job by your friendly Chatsworth Plumber!

Drain Cleaning in Encino, CA

Rooter service in Encino, CA. Today I ran my mainline snake through an outside main cleanout and pulled some roots out of the line. When I heard a loud “whoosh” followed by a gurgle I knew I had cleared the line. As I retrieved my cable I had to cut off 20 or 30 of those “safe” to flush disposable wipes. No matter what the container says, please don’t flush these modern cleaning miracles, unless you want a visit from your friendly neighborhood Plumberman!

LADWP Submeter West Hills, CA

Did you know you can save a lot of money on your water bill? The city of Los Angeles has a submeter program that allows you to save on your water bill each month by installing an LADWP submeter to separate your Irrigation, Pool Water, car wash water etc. from the water you use inside your house. The LADWP has a separate sewer charge on all the water you use unless you install a submeter, you’re paying for the sewer charge on the water you use to sprinkle your lawn, wash your car or fill your pool. They do give you an estimated allotment for irrigation, but to make sure you are getting the correct charges on your bill you need to install a submeter. Most customers see the submeter pay for itself with the savings on their bill within a year or two, and then save money on every LADWP bill after that! I just love Plumbing that pays for itself! Leak under sink in Woodland Hills, Ca

A leak under a sink can cause a lot of damage to your home, especially if its on the second story. Good thing my customer noticed it before things got out of control! I replaced the water shut off valves under the sink, the water supply lines, the pop-up assembly tailpiece and trap. Good as new with a one year parts and labor warranty!
